1st Assembly of God's Connexion Center

The Ambassadors of the Miami Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of the First Assembly of God's new youth ministry building -- Connexion Center - in Miami on Wednesday, June 02, 2010 with a ribbon cutting. The Connexion Center will have its own driveway and entry off of Elm Street as well as having access through the front church parking lot off of Steve Owens Blvd. The Connexion Center is the location of Connexion Student Ministry, which is geared toward students from Junior High to College. Its mission is to connect students to God, family, and friends. CSM meets each Wednesday night at 7 PM in the Connexion Center.

The Ambassadors of the Miami Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed the NEO Realty Group as a new member and new business in Miami on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 with a ribbon cutting. The Ambassadors of the Miami Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed the World Acceptance Corporation as a new member on Thursday, April 15 with a ribbon cutting. World Acceptance Corporation, located at 1022 E. Steve Owens Blvd., has been in business for 15 years in Miami.

David Purscelley, Manager of the Miami location, and assistant managers, Ashley Ward and Amber Bennett, pride themselves on service to their loan customers. Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors joined Jack and Rosie Dalrymple Thursday at a ribbon cutting for the newly opened Route 66 Rentals, located at 418 North Main in North Miami. At Route 66 Rentals you can find anything from an elegant punch fountain to a stump grinder. Donna Eads is the store manager, assisted by her husband, Bob. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Gallery 9 Ribbon Cutting and Open House

The Miami Area Chamber Ambassadors celebrated the official grand opening of Gallery 9 in downtown Miami this past week. Janice Post, owner of Gallery 9, was joined by her husband, Harrell Post and well-known artist, Charles Banks Wilson, at the ribbon cutting opening. Gallery 9 is the newest business establishment in downtown Miami and features custom framing collectibles and art by artists, such as, Charles Banks Wilson. Gallery 9, located at 9 N. Main Street, is open Tuesday-Friday from 1 -- 6 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. -- 2 p.m.

Dr. Bradford Stephens is an Internal Medicine Physician specializing in Adult Medicine. He has been practicing in Miami since the fall of 2001. Dr. Stephens specializes in taking care of complex patients with multiple medical problems. He spends his entire morning each day caring for his hospital patients and enjoys spending extra time with each of them. Dr. Stephens outgrew his rented office in the Doctor's Bldg several years ago and began searching for a place to purchase to convert into his own private office. In 2007 the bungalow style home @ 202 A Street SW became available for purchase. It was the perfect location for his new office -- with room for parking and it is close to the hospital facilities!

Judi Johnson, owner of the Copper Creek Flea Market & Consignment, employees and Chamber Ambassadors celebrated the official opening of an additional building that will house the consignment of furniture, lighting fixtures, art and home décor. Johnson opened Copper Creek Flea Market in November 2009 and enhances her retail establishment with the opening of the furniture consignment location. Copper Creek is located at 606 North Main in North Maimi and is open seven days a week fro 9 a.m. -- 6:00 p.m.

First Assembly of God Groundbreaking

1st Assembly of God celebrated the groundbreaking for their new Connexion Center on Sunday, August 2nd. Located at 1815 E Steve Owens Blvd, the 13,000+ square foot multi-purpose facility will feature Meeting Rooms, a Game Room, Offices, a Coffee Shop, and Kitchen facilities. Construction is underway and expected to be completed in the Spring of 2010. Contractor is Joplin Construction Design & Management.

Miami Cineplex Adds 3D!!!

Not only is the Miami Cineplex the only theatre in Ottawa County - it is now going to be the only theatre with 3D capabilities! The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with Cheif Tom Gamble and staff of the Miami Tribe and Miami Cineplex.

Cheif Tom Gamble, of the Miami Tribe says "We were very excited in March of 07 when we opened the theatre, but today is even more exciting as we take the Cineplex to the next level in entertainment! The addition of a digital projector will not only allow for 3D movies, but also allows the theatre to project events, concerts, and even gaming devices, such as X-Box. The possibilities are endless!"

NEO NAME CENTER: A Ministry of 1st Assembly of God in Miami, OK

Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors joined the NAME staff, pastors and board members at First Assembly of God for a ribbon cutting ceremony April 23, 2009 at the brand new NEO NAME Center, 1809 East Steve Owens Blvd in Miami. Associated with the National Association of Marriage Enhancement, NEO NAME offers nouthetic (Biblical) counseling free of charge to married couples and couples preparing for marriage, by certified counselors.

The new building features: counseling rooms, a conference center, chapel, offices, and kitchen. NEO NAME staff members include directors, Darrell & Kathey Wyrick, Charles and Barbara Stoner, Johnny and Pam Johnston, Tony and Ramie Tirres, Brad and Debbie Ware, Joe and Ruth Ann Merchant and Terry and Beth Rotman. NEO Medical Center in Miami has a new look and some additional faces. For more than 25 years, Dr. Martin Grotheer, MD has been practicing at the clinic located at 10 South Treaty Road. Well-known healthcare providers, Shirley Chesnut, DO, Aleta Fox, PA-C and Clay Tessmer, PA-C have joined Dr. Grotheer and Dorothy Mayes, ARNP, in providing quality care for patients. A ribbon cutting welcoming the NEO Medical Center to the Chamber was held April 7, 2009.

Factory Connection Comes to Downtown Miami!

The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors welcomed the newest retail location, The Factory Connection, to the Miami area with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. The Factory Connection, located in downtown Miami at 27 North Main, opened their doors last week to provide the community with sportswear and juniors', misses', plus size and men's department at affordable prices. Factory Connection is open Monday-Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors welcomes Judi Johnson, owner of the new Copper Creek Flea Market & Consignments to the business district of Ottawa County. Johnson recently opened Copper Creek Flea Market located at 606 North Main, North Miami, OK.
Renovation is currently underway on a separate building that will house the Copper Creek Consignments business which will open after the first of the year. Johnson has available booth space for anyone wishing to set up a flea market booth. The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Board of Directors welcomed the new owner of Salon 504, Sherry Blundell to the business community. Salon 504, located at 504 1st Street NE, was purchased this past September by Sherry and her husband. The salon has a full staff of experienced stylists and nail techs. The staff are able to meet every clients needs and they also have 2 tanning beds for those of us that don't get enough sun. The staff includes: Sherry Blundell, Kenya Skaggs, Cady Smith, Brittany Brown, Sarah Montgomery, Ben Brady, Ashley Johnson, Cassandra Grant, Michelle Michelhany, Jill Walther, Tasha Starr and Misty Reints.
